אלכס בן צבי נולד בצ'רנוביץ ועלה לישראל ב-1971. בעל תואר שלישי ביחסים בינלאומיים מאוניברסיטת דנוביוס בסלובקיה, הוא דובר שבע שפות. נשוי ואב לארבעה.
ב-1983 הצטרף לשירות החוץ, ומילא שורת תפקידים במזרח אירופה, בדרום ובמרכז אמריקה וברוסיה. היה ממארגני מצעד החיים הראשון ב-1988. בספטמבר 2019 החל לכהן כשגריר ישראל בפולין, ובספטמבר 2020 החל לכהן כשגריר ישראל ברוסיה .

Alex Ben Zvi was born in Chernivtsi and immigrated to Israel in 1971. He holds a PhD in International Relations from the University of Danubius in Slovakia, and speaks seven languages. Married and father of four. In 1983 he joined the Foreign Service, holding a number of positions in Eastern Europe, Southern and Central America and Russia. Was one of the organizers of the first parade of life in 1988. In September 2019, he began serving as Israel's Ambassador to Poland, and in September 2020, he began serving as Israel's Ambassador to Russia.
